Can anyone tell me the difference between the Hardy JLH Ultralight 8-9 and the JLH Salmon 8-9. Looking to put on a 7wt. spey rod.
Love the forum and thanks
dean
The JLH (also called JLH Ulltralight) was just recently discontinued by Hardy. The 8/9 and Salmon are the largest two sizes with the 8/9 being a 3-3/4" reel suitable for a #8 single hand road or a very light spey rod. The salmon is a 4" reel suitable for use on 2-handed rods. There was no "8/9 Salmon" model produced.
Dean, I have the biggest Ultralight Disc, which is the same size as the largest JLH, just with a disc rather than the click pawl. If you need capacities, just ask!
