I've searched the archives, but found only a little information on this reel.
I've found a nice one that I'm tempted to buy as a second reel for my 6126, but want to confirm it has sufficient capacity for a short head line.
I know the spool diameter is 3 7/8 inches, and weight is about 7 5/8 oz. Anyone know the spool width or approx. line capacity?

thanks in advance....Mike

I use a St. John on my 6126 and it's a perfect combination. To be sure, things are a little tight on the backing. I use the gel-spun stuff with a Airflo 6/7 delta, and have enough room for about 90 yards of backing. If need be, you can cut off some of the running line and replace it with the gel spun. But trust me, the St. John is one of the loudest Hardy reels I've come across, and with no rim control and a dearth of backing, it makes life very exciting when you get a steelhead on. Go for it!
