What's the general consensus regarding which feathers work best for winging, steelhead/saltwater capes, strung chinese neck hackle, or anyone else's favorite?

my local shop indicated that they've dropped the grading on these, but the new ungraded neck was great nonetheless.

I have been using the Metz Natty Grizz. The ones for tying #14-#18 dries. I can't stick a tent wing to save my soul, I tie the hackles long and thin for a wing intstead. When I get home On Tuesday I will post some pics, they look good and "shrimpy".

I can't prove it, but the long, thin, black and white wings seem to do "something" to GL fish, whether it be rubber legs, or thin feathers.

whiting american are the ones to use as the quality is reliable. Sometimes you can find a good chinese neck but I stopped digging through them and just stick to the whiting.
