[Yooper-Fly]

Well, the snow is falling and the water is gin clear! Fat steelhead are in and the Atlantic’s as well.

Still struggling with getting wings to sit right.....I’m reading the book by Veverka but it’s hard to get all the nuances from just the book! Practice makes perfect I suppose. Tried taking some advice from previous fly

Any constructive criticisms always welcome! Going to head up north now and try it out! Will report later!!

Also just got my SGS intermediate scandiod line in the mail!!!!!!! 15’ rod and some sweet mojo line spooled up on the trusty click pawl.......does it get any better gentleman??????

Thanks Matt! And thanks for the material! I figure getting the whole ‘wing thing’ (as I like to call it!) just takes tying several dozen or so.

Great fly, Yooper!

One technique for a lower set wing is to bend the stems. This is an exaggerated example but, hopefully the image helps. Another way is to simply tent them inwards.

Good proportions on that fly, Yooper. Not overdone at all. If you keep that same balance to your following attempts, you will be well on your way to superb flytying.
