Spey Play Day

Another great day in the bag.
As always Randy did an exceptional job organizing another Clave, well done Randy and many, many thanks.
The weather was great, cool and crisp first thing in the morning then the sun came up for the rest of the day, what more could we ask for.
Approximately 80 people turned out which was nice.
I did meet quite a few new people which tells me the word must be getting out there.
I was up first with my demo then everyone got a chance to cast some of their rods of choice,or are they the "wish list rods".
After a wonderfull B-B-Q Rick Kustich gave an excellent demo from basics to actual fishing situations plus some great info on tube flys.
For anyone who didn't get a chance to buy one of Ricks DVDs on Tube Fly Tying send me an email and I will let you know where you can purchase one.
After Ricks demo everyone was back out on the river casting.
I will post a link to Flickr when I upload my pics.
Many thanks to sponsors,Spey Pages,Sage,Guideline, local shops who donated some very nice prizes.
Also thanks go out to all that helped make today event a sucess.

Hi Neil,
Looks like you had a great turn out on a beautiful day.
Great slide show, reminds me of my time a few years ago at the Grand river, hopefully i will get back over there some day.
I see Mr Ramsay Macdonald was there.... thats the guy that made Scott, Myself and some friends close down a bar in Chilliwack. :chuckle:
Hope to get back over there next year.

Went swinging for steel instead

Well I considered attending, but went steel heading instead, and I agree these claves are a lot of fun, but, if I could suggest, hold them just outside the GL steel head runs,if this clave had of been held a couple weeks earlier I would have attended.....but when the steelies are up no chance....well maybe next one:smokin: .

Just like to add my congratulations to Randy, Peter, Neil, Rick, and all others involved for a job well done. Especially go thanks to the crew on the BBQ for an excellent lunch.
Mike, it was very nice to meet you and look forward to seeing you in the future.
Gordon, If memory serves I was not exactly the leader in that little escapade:razz: . Mke was kind enough to let me try out the 13 ft. Clan that you sent him. Nice smooth traditional rod. Say Hi to Scott for me when you see him next. Also Hi to Mariel, look forward to having another dance with her sometime.
