Anyone tried this rod with a long belly? I have used this rod for one season now and it is an amazing rod. I have only used it with a shorter belly and it cast like a dream! I would like to try it with a long belly line next year but I don't know what to by. I dont want an xlt cause I think its too long.

Much happier

if you move to a 65 foot midspey before you try a long belly. those extra feet make a difference.

An xlt in class 8 must be wrong for this rod! What kind of rod will handle an xlt 10 or 11????

By the way, I can't find any info on the new XLT lines anywhere.

Sorry Gub, I didnt read your post properlly, for some reason I thought we were talking about the 15ft 7/8 greaseliner. :Eyecrazy:
For the 10/11 the old xlt 9 or the new xlt 10 would work great for longer line work.
