Hi all:

Just a quick update on the river conditions on the Gaspe peninsula as of now. The spring has been wetter and colder than normal and the water levels reflect that. The York, Dartmouth, and St. Jean rivers are running higher than normal for this time of year by feet not inches.

The season opens June 1st and I expect that the rivers will be at least 2-3 feet higher than they were last season for the opening. This should slow the fish down and make for good fishing on the rivers throughout June. Spey casting will certainly be a plus over the next several weeks.

A couple of the members of this forum will be attending my spey fishing schools and I am sure that they will post their experiences here; I will also be updating fishing and fishing conditions throughout the season.

If you are up on the Gaspe feel free to drop in and say "hi".
