I just got back Sunday from the Gaspe' and I can only tell you that I will be back again.

I fished the York and the Grand Rivers and they are truly beautiful. Deep emerald pools filled with salmon ... The best one I got was about 25 pounds and was by no means the largest one in the pool. I caught fish on wet and dry flies.

The whole Gaspe' peninsula is a beautiful, rugged and wild land.

Make no mistake there is civilization there...

I stayed at Malbaie River Outfitters Lodge, it is an Orvis-endorsed lodge This might be the only thing that was better than the rivers.

They have a great lodge build in the 1930's and a staff that serves gourmet meals and meets your every need. The guides are so good, I even caught fish. I can't say enough good things about this operation. My hats off to Bill Greiner and his whole staff!

I also met great people from all over .. P.E.I to Denver to New York and Ohio ... one fisherman was 90 years old (and yes he caught a salmon too). All were fun and interesting to talk to and fish with ... I really had a great time!
