Gary's rods

I have 4 of Gary's rods and have cast or used several others. He is putting out new rods and working on new tapers continuously, so giving him a call is always a good idea. I have a 12ft6" 5wt that is the perfect light summer steelhead rod. I also have a 13'3" 7wt that has a medium fast progressive action and is a fantastic skagit/tips rod. One of his most popular rods is the 1336 which is about 1/8th ounce lighter and quite a bit faster than the 1337. Finally, last time I was in there he told me about a rod being rolled up by Sage that is basically a 12'1 5/6 made from the XP taper. It will definately be my next purchase.
If you call him let him know you got info from this site.

Taper

SSpey, I agree completely. Gary designs his own rods and they are not at all like the Burkheimers. I have a 9143 Burk, which is an amazing rod, and my guess is it has a reverse taper. Gary's rods are mostly progressive taper. Also, not all of Gary's rods are from blanks rolled up by Burkheimer.
Cannon,
he has a website, but it is down right now. It wasn't a very good site anyway. If you are really interested give him a call. PM me if you want a phone#.
