Often (for some), one finds oneself seduced by challenges such as fly swaps. It is also the case (for a below-average tier like myself) that the category or fly being proposed is outside of our scope of expertise or what we habitually tie. Such was the case with the "Gardener Dee Swap." I tied a few extras and today took one out for a swim...when I tied my version I opted for a more obscure recipe which included an inverted GP crest set between the wings...
Seemed rather odd, but when I gave her her maiden voyage it proved to provide a beautiful translucent back on this pattern...
