I have a Russ Peak Zenith PGG fly rod for sale. It’s a 2 piece rod, 8’6” in length weighing 4.8 ounces. As is typical for Peak rods, there is no line weight marked on the rod or tube label so, I contacted Kerry Burkheimer about the rod to see if he could help. He was not able to give an exact line weight but likened the rod to a 9’ Peak PGG that he fishes with a 9 weight line but Kerry expected this rod was a bit lighter. The rod is likely for an 8 weight line – but, when Peak did note line weights it was usually a range of weights. I think he may have noted this rod as a 7/8/9.

Markings on the rod read " Russ Peak Zenith PGG #13715 8 1/2' 4.8 oz. w/reel seat ".

It has a spigot ferrule which fits perfectly. The reel mounting hardware is a doublescrew up up locking aluminum type finished in gold, probably Cal Air. There is a fixed hook keeper above the cork grip. It has an insert in the stripper guide and two more snake guides on the butt section and 7 snake guides on the tip plus the tiptop. The rod is numbered 13715.

The rod is in excellent condition – possibly never fished judging from the lack of marks on the rod or on the reel mounting hardware. It simply looks pristine. The rod comes with its original tube and bag. The details on the tube label match the rod exactly.

I’m asking $875 REDUCED TO $750 for the rod including postage to the CONUS (if you are outside the CONUS contact me for a shipping cost). PayPal only please and I’ll pay their fees.

PM if interested.
