But seriously, if you're looking for the back story it goes like this. I ordered the reel to pair with a 12' 6" 6wt. rod i was building. But I finished the rod and sold it before the reel ever arrived. I'm not one to keep something I'm not using. So the reel is as describe, brand new in the box. Its never had a backing line on it. 4" Skandi weighs 10.5 oz. hex drag and in perfect working order. It won't be the first time I've lost money on a purchase and it probably won't be the last. I didn't mean to sound like a smart a$$ on my previous post so my apologies. Rob

That's fine. I have 2 Speyco reels. You have to wait about 6 -8 weeks to get one. Great looking reel. I know some like the more expensive reels Farlex, Olson, Saracione, etc. I do as well, but just have a hard time using a real that expensive that will eventually get dunked, scuffed, dropped etc...
