For Sale: Leaded Hardy St. John with Leather Case:

- Reel from 1940s with 3-screw drum latch, leaded finish, and straight line lettering.

- Nice even finish with good leading remaining.

- Latch and tension adjustment work perfectly.

- Nice tight reel with no cracks or chips.

- TA (Thomas Appleby, 1920-1947) makers initials inside.

- Ribbed brass foot was filed slightly when I got the reel. Bill Archuleta recently removed the foot to smooth and even up the ends. It is now 2 7/16" long, right in line with modern standards, and looks great.

- Comes with a simple leather case that fits well and provides good protection, but is not a heavy duty case.

This is a really nice St. John, ready to fish with no issues. Fits modern reel seats. A great classic, ideal for an 8-9 weight single handed rod or a 5-6 weight double handed/switch rod. $300 plus $15 shipping/insurance within CONUS, add $10 for Canada. PM or email at [email protected] if interested. Thanks.

This is a solid switch reel for sure. I have one lined up on my T&T 7wt switch. I've got a 7wt Switchchucker on there for warmwater pursuits, and will throw the Scandi/running line back on for steel this fall.
