I threw feathers at fish yesterday and lost two hooks giving it another go soon

Buddy I wish I could fish at all... Since I cant get the waders wet, ill tie em up.

Priorities man - priorities. The shows sound like something though. Maybe one will come near and I can attend sometime, with the audience of course.

It was actually sort of a bore, i will say that the DO NOT TOUCH placard will be out next time, stupid f-ing idiots messing with perfectly set crest wings going up and down the wing with their fingers saying oooh what are those feathers. I was quick to say. "HEY!!! STOP HANDLING THE FLIES"

Close Associate, Dave Roberts, is in the top 1% when it comes to tieing flies,amazing to watch him tie a size 22 holding the hook in his finger tips. Does a lot of the shows here in Oregon and that's his 'main complaint,' 'Can I touch' without asking.

Odds on he'll just hand over the fly and 'It's yours.' :smokin:

The price of good hooks! YIKES!! I like to tie on Partridge Salar Doubles and the damned things cost me $1.85 each ... if I can find them. Found a Gold Mine about a year back and 'How many boxes and in what size do you have?' (Small shop somewhere back East if memory serves.) I winced at the credit card bill but purchased every box he had in stock.

Oh yeah, and i had some simple feather wings, nothing too special, one guy comes up and says oh are these samples. Now why on earth would I have flies stuck in corks, setup in display mode looking purdy for you to just take home with you for nothing "samples" really!

That's why u don't tie, or present show flies at a show, unless their in a protective case. A lot of folks at those venues have no idea you're creating art, not a fishing fly. Cool bug Matt.

Nice color combo but a little taper would go a long way. cool wing though

The show's do draw quite the audience - don't they? The streams always seem a bit more clear when the shows in town.
