If you can ID it I'll get it back to you. Still has the fly. Looks like whoever owned it was going after winter steelhead earlier in the season. I'm interested in knowing how the running line snapped.

I hooked and retrieved a skagit line on the Grand Ronde last year while fishing. I also posted an ad here . Alas no answer but like you I had questions and wanted to hear the story behind the loss .

I got mine back

Huge king on Salmon River, NY. Spooled me, then broke off at knot. I yelled upstream to "Grab it". Some one did, broke off salmon, found line by streamside.
