I walk my dogs 3 to 5 miles every day, following my philosophy of a tired dog is a good dog. This winter it's been snowshoes every day, for months now. One of the things I really enjoy about the winter is the evidence of our neighbors- tracks in the snow. We have a healthy population of coyotes, turkey, Hawks, owls, deer, small birds, cottontails, and all kinds of little rodents.
But today, the pups and I came across the remains of a turkey, feathers the only thing remaining. As I collected a few choice samples, it occurred to me it would the basis of a fun tying challenge.
So here's the South Lima Steelhead Society tying challenge-
Three materials required-
1- oval or flat tinsel
2- floss or braid
3- A natural, found material- the lint trap on your dryer, or your dog or cat don't count. Something found outside- feathers, fur, whatever else you can think of- spiderweb?
Ad anything more you want to the list, but those three are the requirements.
Due date- April 1st. I'll have a small prize for the winner.
