Here are 10 patterns you need for your next trip to the Skeena system.

Black and blue work well on many tributaries of the Skeena system. These dark flies show well in the often coloured water of the Skeena River.

Pink is another favourite, especially for the fresh fish of the lower system and rivers such as the Kalum. Pink is also very effective in bright sunlight throughout the tributaries.

Big thanks to the guides of the Skeena who helped us build this list; Skeena River Lodge and Steelhead Excursions and local experts such as Skeena River Fly Supply. Very cool flies guys!

Funny how "flies" are referred to as "colors that work". Last time I checked my skunk worked just fine, as did my spade.
