Hi
We have just had a lovely family celebration of my widowed dad's
80th birthday.
As an old soldier in the Scots Guards Regiment he has told me a million times over about his service in Germany during WW2 and about the comradeship and companionship he enjoyed at that awful time.
He repeatedly tells me that I will never experience the bond he felt and had for his fellow man in those circumstances.
In conversation I have told him often that, although I have thankfully no first hand experience of war, I have some lifelong fishing buddies whose company and companionship I value and appreciate as much as I enjoy fishing, and that I can understand the bond that he experienced.
Do you value companionship in fishing as much as I do?
Mike
