[Valley Fly Nut]

Does anyone have or tried out a Fenwick HMG? I have a line on a 9/10 wt, 14' for a good price. I have never used a spey rod and would like to get started.

Any opinions out there? What lines to match up to this rod?

If you do a search on Fenwick you'll find some info. There was a thread just a few days back.

Without going into all of the horrific details, I thought I'd save and buy an inexpensive Fenwick 14' 9/10 HMG as my first spey rod. It's a club.
I'd reccomend a broomstick or perhaps an old pool cue, it would be an improvement.

Moose, was that the HMG AV series? Is there a difference?

Maybe that is why the price is so good!!!
