This reel is LOUD! It operates perfectly... No Wobble.. Check is super tight... A dream to fish.. It appears that at some point in its life a counter weight had been fixed to the winding plate, as a result the plate has a few cracks.
Great reel at a very good price - snagged by a fortunate angler
The cracks in the winding plate are probably not due to a counterweight being added, but rather an 'accident' with the original handle position - look at the external surface of the winding plate, it still has 'wear' in the leading where fingers have rubbed it off during winding. The accidental loosening and then cracking of the winding plate around the original handle had forced the owner at that time to have the new handle fitted to the other side of the winding plate, and the original site plugged.
