I've been toying with this rod, or a Sage TCX in similar weight. Looking for a fast stick (my other is a Scott ARC 7128-3). How do you think it compares to the TCX?

My take on the two...

The TR will be heavier in the hand but by not to much. It is also a line size heavier on paper. It cost less then half of what a TCX cost so I think if one has a limited budget the TR is one kickass deal and it is an awesome casting rod even if one isn't on a budget.

Many Echo dealers will also include a free head with the TR. Something that is a big nono for Sage dealers.

I did love my Deathstar but some dickhead liked it better.
