Could you explain in a little more detail what you are trying to achieve. Not sure what kind of school it is or why you are seeking donations to raise money. Thanks.

Springwater in a science based charter school in oregon city Oregon. The school district only gives us 75% of the funding of the public schools. So we do fundraising for the rest of the money we need to fun the school. We have a auction that we do every year. Im a parent of three kids that go to the school and my wife is on the school board. If you would like to see more about the school go to www.springwaterschool.com for more information about the fundraising and the school thanks for your time!!

nate,

I teach at a charter school in Oregon and was involved in the process. How does Oregon City get away with giving you guys only 75%?? Charter schools ARE public schools and the school district receives the same level of state funding for charter school students as it does for all other students. The state sends districts monies based (for the most part) on ADM, which is basically your average daily attendance calculated over a year.

BTW, state law requires more than 75%: The following is from the Oregon School Boards Association website.

"If a school district is the sponsor, it must contract with the charter school to pay for educational services. The payment must equal an amount per weighted average daily membership (ADMw) that is at least equal to:

80 percent of the amount of the school district’s General Purpose Grant per ADMw for students in grades K-8; and
95 percent of the amount of the school district’s General Purpose Grant per ADMw for students in grades 9-12."

I belong to a few fly fishing forums and organizations that are extremely charitable. But it you join, don't even bother to post a profile, and ask for donations a day or two later this is exactly the response you can expect. Too much scamming on the internet. Your intentions may be completely honorable, but this method won't likely get a favorable result anywhere.
