This is a poor pic i know but I have thought a lot about this as i'm still a bit concerned about those long shanks...so this is something that I thought I would try....

Used cooper to help it sink...wondering if my hook will work as a rudder with a size 4 or if I need to go up to a one or two...

anyone tried this and does it swing proper?

ps tied a proper Miss Grant..which doesn't want to upload, that wing is kind of a beitch to work with huh?

I'll be interested to hear about your swim test- I've gone to mostly tying tubes in the round. But dees are my favorite bugs.

I did two and will swim them this afternoon and see how they are...

was out this afternoon...and it swung pretty decent...

took the little rod out today....and fished some bugs...dinker fish grabs was all

look at the centre of gravity of your hook... it will try to make your fly swim upside down.. so unless you want that rotate your hook 180'. Been "dube" for the last 6 or so years...
