Anyone have any experience with this reel, and if you do, how much backing are you using? It lists the capacity at WF-9-F + 240yds of 20# backing. I have a LW 6nine, which is supposed to have the same capacity, but holds less that 100 yards of backing with almost any type of line. It barely holds 200 yds of gelspun with a 6/7/8 Windcutter.

remember that most reel capacities are given for single-hand lines, which generally take up considerably less room than a two-hand line. Using GSP as backing is one way to increase capacity. Another is to shorten the running line. For example if the line is 120 feet, most of us in fishing will never get close to that total length, so removing 10 to 20 feet would not be noticed in most fishing situations. With 20 feet removed, you would still get well over 100 feet to the fly before you would get to the backing.

If you fish those far runs, you would probaly have a longer rod, and a bigger reel to begin with. You can get some comparisons looking at Able or Nautilus reel capacities. The latter has single- and two-hand data posted.
