If this isn't "the real dressing" then this fly deserves its own place in the canon of flies!
That's breathtaking. If I could ever tie one like that, I would be so enamored of it I couldn't bring myself to swing it into the inevitable vicious take of a steelhead!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm less worried about the fish than decorating the river bed. If I can tie it - so can you.

That is some very neat tying!!
I believe wigeon is used for the hackle.
