I'm looking at downsizing equipment to either of these rods. I believe both are ranked as medium actions rods, but wonder which may be the slower/softer action of the two?

The CND Expert 1308 is a rod that covers a broad range of uses from summer and is a great Spey rod at a great price, retail USD $295.

It has the traditional Spey action that all CND rods have, and not at all noodly. The rod has a slightly 'tight' feel to it, but not stiff by any means. It loads very sweetly in the traditional manner (all the right places) and unloads with surprising power to throw casts for distance with little effort.

This rod really comes alive with either a 7/8/9 Windcutter if you like a lighter touch, or a 8/9/10 if you like a rod to load deep. Also, for floating line work a 7/8 or 8/9 Midspey floater fits like a glove. I prefer the lighter midspey for summer greaseline work.
