In addition, the intent of the BS was to provide a top quality rod at a very competative price. The blank is the very same IM8 graphite as the Solstices and Specialists, unlike those the BS has a tip over ferrule and a cork butt both of which contribute to the excellent price point of the rods.
That said, I really like the rods - especially the lighter ones like the 5/6/7 12'6" and the 13' 6/7/8. I lent my 13' to one of the mods who took it to the Skeena for a month - he loved it - taking fish up to 25 lbs on it.
