Clave is a musical instrument. It is pronounced Claw-vey. Clave is two short "sticks" played by the drummers in the back of the school band to drive the band teacher crazy. The shorten version of conclave is a term only weird spey casters could come up with to make music teachers feel at home attending a Spey "clave". Klem (retired music teacher)

Ooops

This was suppose to be under the "Clave" Thread. I hit the New Thread button instead of the Post Reply. Sorry, Klem

Not to worry.

Properly spelled the word is: 'Clave.

If memory serves the word was 'dreamed up' for the first Sandy River Spey 'Clave as 'conclave' just didn't have enough 'zip.'

'clave has been a term used for gathering of FF'ers for years. I first heard use of the term back in the old [email protected] days, when I first met Juro, and Jeff Johnson.

"Claw-vey" is how it sounds after a few too many drams

Everyone bring two sticks to the next Spey Claw-vey and I'll conduct a short but rememberable sym-phony. Klem
