As I get ready to go out and test my new Mid Spey 7/8 w/ the interchangeable tips, I have hopefully made the Rio chart on relative depth a little easier to read. (Warning needs to be proof read):
RELATIVE FISHING DEPTH WITHOUT AND WITH COMPENSATOR:
RIO’S SINKING TIPS WITHOUT /WITH COMPENSATOR;
TIP W/OUT COMPENSATOR: TIP W/ COMPENSATOR:
15’ AQUALUX TIP: 8” TO 2 ’ 15’ AQUALUX: 2’ TO 4’
15’ TYPE 3 TIP: 1’6” TO 3’ 15’ TYPE 3 TIP: 3’ TO 6’
15’ TYPE 6 TIP: 2’6” TO 5’ 15’ TYPE 6 TIP: 5’ TO 8’
15’ TYPE 8 TIP: 3’ TO 7’ 15’ TYPE 8 TIP: 6’ TO 10’
Rio's new compensator makes an interchange tip set equal to several different fly lines without and with the compensator tip.
