AJ 2091 Gut sub
Orange uni yarn 1/3 purple uni yarn 2/3
Gold Lagartum med, French oval med gold and silver
Orange coque tail stripped on one side 8 turns,
Purple spey sized mallard flank
Double strips BM set apart

Note that these coque feathers when bleached and dyed definitely makes them not so thick so it worked well with so many turns.

" Ah me! These be gaudy, flaunting, flashy days! Our sober Spey, in the matter of salmon fly-hooks, is gradually yielding to the garish influence of the times. " :hihi:

I think this may be your best one, yet! Everything is just about as good as it can get. And those wings are incredible!!!!

Thanks for another great one, Matt!

You just can't get enough of Colin's site either, can you!?! What a great resource!

Since I'm out of any decent BM, I've been sorting through some teal for a go at a gold-green. Of course, in the "new" way, which is actually the "old" way. :Eyecrazy:

A heartfelt thank you for the inspiration and a shared interest in the tradition!

Rustle up some Greenheart rods, a mile of silk line, and let's swing these beauties!!
