Nymph!
Hitcher's recent post of a wonderful set of nymphs had me thinking about them for Salmon and Steelhead. Just because it's a nymph pattern, it doesn't always mean lobbing indicator's and weight.
They can be quite elegant, and drifted or swung like anything else you may tie onto the end of your leader.
Here's my take on a Charles DeFeo pattern I just found in a Bate's book- his Gold Nymph...
