just wanted to note that big sparkly overdressed intruders, with flash and legs and just about anything else, make excellent cat flies.

with some weight on the hook, heavy dumbell eyes, and tied on a string (hook cut off, of course), your salmo felinicus will go into predatory hunting reflex overdrive.

prepare for multiple hook-ups!

Very true - but

When my two cats were kittens I fashioned a toy from an old rod tip, some mono, and a pink intruder - without the hook. They loved it and we had a ball. Only problem is that since that time, if I happen to leave a fly out in the open, they think its a toy and will climb counters, etc. to get it and play with it. I have had to be very careful about leaving flies about. The idea of trying to unhook my cat gives me the willies. Beware.
