Has anyone here any experience with the new 95" heads lines from Carron? Are they worth the price? Which rod lengths are the two line classes suitable for?

I'm currently using an XLT 8-9 and a 9-10 on my 15'6 rod, anyone know if the Carron Jetstream 10-11 are heavier than an XLT 9-10 (old type)?

So many lines out there to try out :Eyecrazy:

The 10-11 85' heads casts a little heavier than the 8/9 XLT. If your rod can handle a 9/10 XLT I would expect it can cast both the 85' and 95' 10/11 heads.

If you cast the 8/9 or 9/10 xlt the 95' 10/11 will fit in nicely.
Is this for fishing? I prefer the 75' head for fishing. The 95' is
a little bit to much work with a 15' rod for me.

No, it's for pure casting excercise

Thanks for the answers, I might try one.

The 10/11 carron 95 is a tad bit heavier then the 8/9 xlt, it comes in around 1050 grains. The 11/12 carron 95 is about 100gr more. They both turn over very well at extreme distance, the front taper is a bit different then the 75 and the 85. Nice thing is, they both cast well when working in close as a fishing line. It is also nice to know that if you really have to boom one out there you have 180' to work with. Most long line casters will never have to see the backing knot again with the exception of a hard running fish.
