Hi!

Now that you had help me with my project of spey fishing for pike (or bass), I choose to use a skagit line for my Greys GRXi+ 13' #8 rod.

I think I will go with a Rio Skagit max versitip as it is simpler for me.

Is 550grains heavy enough for my rod? Or I should go with the 600grains? Or its too heavy and I need something lighter?

Thanks you very much!

Rio line choice...

I had a look at the Rio line recommendation for your rod. This is available on Rio's website. There are two suggestions...the "A" choice of 500 grains for the experienced caster, and the "B" choice of 550 grains for the newer caster. Cheers, Buff.

Thanks for your answers.

What do you think about the Skagit max versitip?

Is this a good idea to buy a kit like this, or i'm better to go with a separate running line / head / selection of tips?

Thanks.
