I got the chance to fish with Ard and Nancy Stetts on the Rogue yesterday and to say I had a great time would be a gross understatement. Ard is a sponsor here and a great guy. The Stetts stories of Alaskan living took me back to my Kodiak days, and made me put a trip with Ard on my bucket list. If you've ever thought about taking a trip to Alaska to fly fish, Ard is your man.
I too have had the joy of fishing with Ard and boss, I haven't met Mrs. Stetts yet but the way she has those boys trained she must too be a real class act. If you take a trip up there I am certain you will have a good time, regardless of the fishing.
And yeah, you forgot a big detail. How was the fishing??
Have always enjoyed Ard's posts and should I ever push further north than northern BC will look him up. Oh and the only wrong time for a grab is in the change room at the gym :chuckle:
Ard's passion for swinging flies and his salt of the earth demeanour was one of the main reasons why a buddy and I have chosen him as our guide for our Alaskan adventure next year. Something tells me we will be in good hands. Can't wait.
Had the delightful experience of talking to Ard and Bud yesterday.
Absolutely a delightful man. Great stories to share about his life and how he got to Alaska. If you're going to make a trip there and need a guide I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND!. His stories alone are with the trip.
Fred
