I will be in Chicago the last week in April. Any opportnitues to bring the long rod with me (short rod if I have to). I have never been to the midwest, but know there is silver in thar hills???

Any help would be appreciated. Anyone care to show me around.

Andre:

You might give Matt Supinski a call. He fishes several Lake Michigan rivers for steelhead and salmon.

His lodge is Gray Drake in Newaygo, Michigan.

Two more for you Andre.
Kevin Feenstra ----- [email protected]
Peter Humphreys ---- [email protected]
Both these guys are excellent guides on the Muskegan River.

How far would it be from Chicago to the Muskegan River?

Andre
Depending on how long it takes you to get unstuck from the city you can be on the river in about 4- 41/2 hours. The St. Joe is closer by an hour and a half or more but I don't know any reputable guides who fly fish it.
I fished with Feenstra yesterday and I would recomend him very highly
He swings big leaches and sculpin paterns on big rods all year long not just every once and a while like most other Mich guides. He has a great system and it works.
good luck
