Back last year I won a rod in an auction here on speypages.
Only yesterday did I get around to having a flick with it, and I need some help from you guys.
The rod is an O-Rex cirucus 12` #6/7 (3 piece).
Has anybody got any line recommendations, or any experience with this brand, as to the best of my knowledge they are not available this side of the world.
Any help much appreciated.

Just reeled-up a 7/8 XLT to try, do it the hard way, and use a process of elimination. :hihi:

The O-Rex is a Japanese rod. I have but briefly cast the 15' version down at Spey-O-Rama so I can't really help you too much. I'm pretty sure that not too many of here have played with them - so let us know how it goes.

thanks for the info.
I know that it`s a new model, and it feels like a very nice rod.
I`m going to play with it over the next few days and see how things go, and of course I`ll keep you posted.

O-Rex rods are built by Hiroshi Okada (Japan).
He is one of demonstrators and competitors at Spey-O-Rama (he is in Spey-O-Rama video) last year and this year.
He donated the rod for Syrstad auction and was wondering who has won the rod and how it was used.
I will contact and ask him to post information.

Hi Peter,

Thank you that you won my "circus" in that auction.

Circus is the newest model of O-REX.
I usually use this rod with Rio Midspey #6/7.
I think Midspey is most suitable line for it.
It feels good with that line.
And easy to make a lond distance cast in spite of such a light line.

Unfotunately, O-REX is not available outside of Japan now.
Only a few American people have O-REX exept in Japan.
I hope these will be familiar all of the world in the near future.

And I hope you will be pleased with that rod.

thank you very much for your reply, and indeed for your kindness in donating the rod to the auction.
I have just ordered the 6/7 Midspey line you suggest, and I look forward to using it with this rod.
I tried it out recently with an XLT line, and it cast beautifully.
I commend you on making such a well finished rod, and I will let you know how the new combination and myself get along.
