These are the 8 Glasso flies I have been working on for a friend. Cameron and Jim requested I try to post a picture of the set.... I finally got around to doing this.

The "White Heron" is a rendition of the un-named Glasso fly sometimes photographed in Bob Taylor's collection. I used some cream coloured seal in the body.

Rick asked if these are for fishing.....not these one's, as they are going up on the wall of a cabin on the Bulkley.... seems a good place for them. I have tied a few extra ones for us to fish.

Now it's time to clean up the mess on my tying desk!

Cheers

These are epic! Really well done.

I used to not get the whole fly display thing. I thought it was a sort of cheesey, poser thing to do. However, when one thinks about it, a beautiful fly in a box/wallet is usually only seen by the angler, his/her fishing partners, and the fish. (Sometimes the fish don't always appreciate good tying, especially when choosing a pink rubber worm). When great flies are framed and displayed many people get to enjoy and admire their aesthetic qualities over and over again. Even those who do not fish can appreciate their inherit beauty.

So I guess now, I get it.

I would be stoked to hang these on my wall!

I love that gadwall gold heron, but all of them are spectacular - as is the composition of your photo. Thanks for posting.
