Hey Gentlemen-
I am the proud owner of a new 4" Hardy Bougle' MKIV, which I am dying to test on my local waters. Being as I use it on a 13' 6/7 with a Windcutter 5/6, I have over 300 yards of backing on the sucker and it still isn't full.
A conversation with Simon Gawesworth on another board led me to post this here. Alexander Grant posited a set of distances he expected to be able to cast given a length and weight of rod. Can this be done today?
Suppose I asked you to fill in the following table, which for the sake of convenience uses Rio's line terminology:
Can it be done? Would anyone be willing to hazard a guess? It will be interesting to see if there is any agreement on where the threshholds between categories lie.
Thanks a lot,
Zach Matthews
