Tied on a TMC 202sp. If I remember right it was a size #8 or #6. I believe that this size was discontinued because the thin wire was straightening under battle with fish it had no business dealing with. Certainly it has an elegant if not fragile form. This hook is responsible for the best success I've had as a wet Hex fly. I'd use it for fish up into the 8 lb range under good conditions.

The tail is intentionally splayed, and the Gummy Bear butts are 3/0 kevlar thread that were lacquered, allowed to dry for 24 hours, and then burnished with a smooth surface; gives them a luster rather that a shine The forward ribbing is gold lace from John McLain.

I know it's a reliable all purpose fly that will cast easily with an 6-8 lb tippet

I love threads with bonus flies :)
Both are gorgeous and I agree with brother Adrian, sexiest Hex fly I have ever seen ... I'm pinching both of these.
