Advice required.....

Having a hard time reeling out a brand new 12'9" DHII First reel too small second too big.

What are you using, thinking of a Danielsson in the 8 ounce empty range...Thoughts???

I'm using a Hardy Zenith on mine. It seems to do a good job balancing the rod. I actually have an extra if your interested.

What reels have you tried.

Have you tried the bag of penneys and weighed them? The Speyco reel sight explains a procedure to determine reel weight.

I use a Ross Canyon BG7 on my dh6.5

It's big but balances just fine weight wise for my tastes. The penny bag trick as posted above is a good way to go. Remember it has to be pennies.Dime bags won't work :)
