Gonna build my first switch rod on an Anglers Roost blank - either the 11ft 2/3 or the 11 ft 3/4. Has anyone tried a 5wt single hand double taper (especially the Rio Trout LT double taper) on either of these rods? Any suggestions on whether either of those rods would match that line?

I have that line on my single hand 5wt and love it - just trying to figure out how the new rod would fit in with the gear I already own.

Only thing I've found Dave is the old 'Rule of the Thumb' ...

on single hander vs. a 2hander rod (lines) seems to hold true. You have to 'up line' by 2.

Small edit: I think the reason for the 'two' is how the rod 'loads.' Air vs water stick.

Hello David,

I build a ARE 11ft 2/3 and it cast a DT5F wonderfull. Very light rod and it bends right down to the grip.

Thanks, Peter - exactly the info I needed. The rod looks great!
Out of curiosity, is that the IM6 ($29) blank or the IM12?
Also, how long is the handle?

It is the IM6 blank and the handle is (I think) about 60 cm. Just the same length as my Echo Classic 12'6" 6/7.
