I am looking to see which of these three Trout Spey rods most people feel is the "best" in the series? I am looking to pick up a two-hand trout rod and I think I might grab one of these.

I fish all over the Western US, but mostly in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and Washington so I can fish everything from small streams to the largest and windiest of rivers. I'd find a use for any of these rods, for sure, and I like to swing everything from small BWO soft hackles to big, #4 weighted, articulated streamers, so I'd find the right usage for any of these rods, too.

I really don't care which, just want to know what is considered the sweet spot in the ONE Trout Spey line, not including the 5wt models. I've heard great things about the 2, 3 and 4 so I doubt I could go wrong.

All input, pros & cons of each and experience shared here will be appreciated. Thanks.

I love the 4116. I never feel undergunned. I use a scandi short versitip 325 on it. It’s a riot with 12” fish on up.

I use One 2109 in BC. Haven't caught any trout not able to handle. The trout spey is actually quite strong.

A bit awkward to cast bigger fly. but bigger fly is not necessary for the trout where I live.

I’m leaning toward the 2109. I think it gives me the best balance between swinging soft hackles on medium streams and a fairly decent-sized streamer (say a #6 with a bead, cone or skull) on bigger water.

A 12” trout should feel great on the 2109 and it should handle 20” plus trout on bigger water.

I’m wondering how it does with weighted streamers in the #6 - #8 range? How about three soft hackle rigs?
