This year’s Kaufmanns’ Spey Days will be held Saturday and Sunday, the Febuary 24th & 25th at new location: the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife boat launch/parking area at Lewis St. on the Skykomish in Monroe. Festivities will begin at 9:30 am. both days.

This year’s presenters will include George Cook, Ed Ward, Scott O’Donnell & Mike McCune, Way Yin and Al Buhr.

We will be offering a slightly different format then we have in past years. The presenter’s presentations will be limited to 20 minutes followed by 20-30 minutes of hands on instruction from the presenters following their demonstration. So be ready with your waders on and rod and reel in hand to get some one on one help….

If you have any questions please contact me at 425-643-2246, Jerry toll free at 1-800-442-4359 or email me at [email protected].

Why the change in location (just curious), and is/are there any RV parks in the immediate area? (Or is it 'OK' to 'dry camp' at the boat launch?)

Fred
We decided to give it a go at a differant location because the many requets for the event to be held a little closter to Town. We wanted to keep it on the Skykomish and the Lewis St. Boat Launch is the only facility that is closer that would be able to accomadate what we needed.

Right now, I am working the State DF&W to let those that would like keep a RV there. Presently the State does not allow overnight stays but that was also the case at High Bridge and we were able to get that waived for us.

Ill keep everyone posted!

Ryan,

Isn't the river bank all a steep rip-rap area at the boat ramp? Is there a gravel bar at the downstream end? You can probably tell I don't get up there much.

Sg
we will be setting up in the back (westside) of the parking lot. there is a trail that leads down to a small gravel bar and a LARGE flat and riffle that will provide ample room for demonstrations and casting.
