  1. Hooks, Feathers and Floss
    Bill McMillan’s “Paintbrush”. A rather simplistic design that I have grown to truly appreciate. Something about seeing this fly on a heavy, vintage down eye hook just makes me immediately think PNW steelhead. Interested to see if some Atlantic salmon may share the interest.

    In Bill's book "Dry Line Steelhead" he explains his technique for getting large irons (or weighted nymphs) down deep by casting quartering upstream and using a "back mend" to get the fly to sink faster. He states that he may have invented this move and I'm wondering if it's something I'm not...
