I see all types of nymphing and lots of single hand dry fly but very rarely do I see two handed trout fishermen.
That is fine by me. Leaves me fresh spots and fresh fish to target.

I don't fish in your area but thought I might chime in. I fish a Meiser 11' 4/5 as my go to rod on the Deschutes. I consider it perfect for 14 inch and larger trout. A 12" fish in fast current can be...

For the OP

Perfect rod for the OP, Meiser CX 12'6" 7-9. Fish big water and long casts, no problem. High banks, not a problem.

Best of luck.

Opst

I can't answer all your questions but maybe one. I fish a 225 grain OPST on a 11' 4/5 switch. I primarily use this set up for throwing weighted sculpins. This set up easily casts 10' of t-11 and a 2...

Yes, well done. Great photos and easy to navigate. Now, just waiting for some gear to show up in the Meiser swag section. 😀 If I'm fishing the rods, I gotta be wearing the swag as well.

I really like the Rio Short Head Spey line. Mainly use it for floating work and small to medium flies but it will cast all levels of Polyleaders or versaleaders.
