Kerry beefed up the upper end on the 8142 so it's action is a bit slower.
Either does well with short heads.

Almost certainly the problem is the problem is your top hand to bottom hand relationship.

Using the upper mostly to load the rod loads it abruptly, it then unloads the same and causes loop...
