Hi everyone...I never have been to a spey clave and looking forward to attending for the first time. Im very green at spey fishing, but I took a lesson with Rick Whorwood and booked a fall drift boat trip with him. Im just wondering what to expect at the clave? Is there some costs associated with the clave? I also see there is a few guys that offer some free lessons...can always use that for sure!!! Should I bring my gear and waders what not? I live in Cambridge and had instant success for bass on the grand with my switch rod so its been a blast. I have fished for over 35 years, both boat and float fishing but decided I wanted more challenge. Picked myself up a used 11ft St Croix Imperial switch. Then went to the first Cast in Guelph and had Ray set me up with the Reel, Skagit/switch, running line and set of MOW tips. Expensive....but Im loving it so far. Cant wait for the steel...Its really great of you guys to put on an event like this and Im really looking forward to it. Maybe I could volunteer some time at the next one somehow. Anyway...just wanted to ask the questions if I should bring my gear and what to Expect?
Thanks so much for your hard work to put on this event !! Much appreciated:)

There hasn't been a cost in the past. I'm pretty sure its the same as years past. Bring your stuff along, never hurts and you can try some of the other guys/tackle reps stuff too which is always fun. I'd recommend bringing a camera and notebook to document some info. Bring your wallet to bid on some of the auction prizes too. They've got some really great stuff. There's a wealth of information at these claves plus they're a TON of fun

Most of the tackle reps and their pro staff will be there . you wil have a chance to try the latest products and get help from their pro staffs on everything from lines rods and reels.( if lucky even on flies and fishing lol)
