That is a wonderful variant !!
The addition of the dubbing is a good call, it doesn't upset the balance of the original pattern at all, blends nicely actually.
The Skier was originated for late summer fish of Braemar and Mar Lodge, hence the sleekness of the original. Your variation is well suited to winter steelhead with the added bulk in the upper body.
That would swing nicely on a sunk line :smokin:
