For an upcoming BC trip in late August.

I am also planning on using longer lines, mono leaders and less sink tips for this trip. Now I just need to get the hang of casting longer lines! Off to practice!

Tight lines!

All of them are beauties :smokin::smokin:
The "tube bomber" is my favorite !!

Is that a Daiwa 813 ??

Thnx guys...

Mike, I'm excited to try the bomber too!

The reel is a JW Young 1540 lined with a Gaelforce Equalizer. I also have a spare spool with a Ballistic Vector...I have my work cut out for me.

I think the Daiwa 813's were also made by JW Young, so pretty close!

The Daiwas are a little different, backplate is flat and sleek. I find the JW Young version .... chunky :hihi:
Nonetheless, a great reel Serge !!
What rod fishes these tubes of yours ??

I will be using a Loop Xact 1409 and a Meiser MKS 13'6 7/8 on this trip. The Loop was on sale for a steal on eBay a while back.

That reel is a tank! I have been told it balances the Loop rod nicely by a friend from another board. I will also be bringing skagit/scandi heads and heavier tips but I'm hoping to use the longer lines and mono leaders more this time around.

Cheers,
Serge

Nice rod choices, that MKS is a cult favourite :smokin::smokin:

The reel is built like a tank, doesnít weigh like one though. I remember weighing my JW Young dry and it was 10.1 ounces.
Great reels for around $100US. Certainly worth at least double.

I have had both the Daiwa and JW Young version, and the Bean Guide Model. The Daiwa was a bit more sexy than the JW, but the Bean even a bit more. Great reels.

And great flies there.
